Services provided by volunteers
Staff conduct phone in-take to determine eligibility
Eligibility determined without regard to income, ethnicity, religious affiliation or other distinction
Community resource info provided to ineligible inquiries
Housekeeping, med reminders, meal prep, personal care not available

Pen Pals - through Adopt-A-Grandparent program; student, group & individual writers

Seniors receive monthly note
No expectation of a reply

Grocery Assistance

Volunteers shop and deliver groceries to homebound seniors once a month

Assistance limited to 45 seniors, currently a waiting list
$50 of groceries/household items monthly

Phone in list by 10th of month
No charge for groceries thanks to Community Partners

- State-trained volunteer counselors
- In-Person appointments, walk in, appointments preferred
- Most Tuesdays & Thursdays, 8:30 am – 3 pm

- Not affiliated with any insurance agent or company
- In-Person appointments, walk in, appointments preferred.
- Walk-in/Appointment Tuesdays & Thursdays, 10:30 am – 3 pm, or Mon/Wed/Fri by appointment only

Transportation

Volunteers use personal vehicles to drive seniors

Rides within Howard County for medical appointments, bank, store, etc.
Drop-off or stay with senior
One ride per week

Senior needs to be ambulatory, not reliant on wheelchair
